Home movies are transferred with a professional film transfer unit called  a Biplexer which produces an Aerial Image.
Aerial Image means there is no grainy screen to degrade image quality. The image formed "IN AIR" is made visible to the camera by the carefully engineered field lenses which are part of the Biplexer's optical system.
